Wanderburg entered Steam Early Access on September 8, 2026. It is already a playable release, rather than a future launch to wait for. The developer retired the old Steam demo on launch day because it no longer represented the released game.
Can I still use the demo?
The official launch announcement says the Steam demo was retired. A surviving demo page, an old video or a third-party download link does not establish that the current demo remains available. This site does not distribute a demo installer or promise that demo saves transfer to Early Access.
When is version 1.0?
The September 30 roadmap places full release in Q2 2027: April–June. This is a planned window, not a confirmed launch day. The Steam Early Access Q&A still gives a broader estimate of six to twelve months; the newer roadmap adds a quarter to that expectation. Neither means the full version is already available.
For a buying decision, separate what you can use now from what is planned. Check the current platform and requirements, then decide whether the present version suits you. The platform guide includes the current Deck rating and Windows baseline.

Historical launch times
The September 6 developer announcement gave these times for September 8. They are kept here for players comparing older launch posts; they are not an upcoming countdown.

Wanderburg roadmap: plans versus released changes
Randwerk published its Early Access roadmap on September 30, 2026. The official roadmap announcement describes it as a rough overview. Its graphic separates the following milestones; performance and stability work continues alongside them.
On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to compare all columns.
| Planned window | Announced work | What it means for your next run |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 2026 October–December | First update: synergies and build diversity, run variety, balance and difficulty, and an Overtime rework. | If Overtime is your sticking point, this is the relevant planned update. The announcement supplies no new live rules or guaranteed quest-completion route. |
| Q1 2027 January–March | Second update: new vehicles, unlockable levels, modules, Artifacts and Captains. | These are content categories, not named unlocks you can buy or equip now. No individual prerequisites or quantities are listed. |
| Q2 2027 April–June | Full release is shown in this quarter. Further updates are also shown, with their details marked TBC. | Use the quarter for planning, not an exact-day countdown. The graphic does not announce PS5, Xbox or Switch versions. |
| Ongoing | Stability and quality-of-life improvements; the announcement also prioritizes performance. | Check actual patch notes for a fix matching your symptom. A future milestone is not evidence that a current crash is resolved. |
Which information should you use today?
- Choosing a current build: use the available loadout examples and named hotfix changes. The Q4 plan does not specify a new best build.
- Stuck on a Mortar objective: use the target and counter checks. The planned Overtime rework is not a confirmed fix for the 25-kill task.
- Waiting for console access: check platform status; do not treat the full-release quarter as a console date.
- Considering a purchase: judge the features available now. The roadmap does not promise a particular skill tree or list exact future unlock costs.
The Steam Early Access Q&A supplies the development estimate. September 8 and September 6 developer announcements supply the demo retirement and historical launch times above. For changes already released, use the hotfix guide.
