Wanderburg Updates: Hotfixes & What to Recheck

Find recent Wanderburg hotfixes and the Captain, module, control and build guides affected by each change.

Updated

The latest released hotfix reviewed here is 0.9.15, published October 22, 2026. It resets Alternate Controller Layout to Off, revises several menus and lists two achievement fixes. The September 30 roadmap still describes future work; the hotfixes below describe released changes. Use this index to identify the affected system, then open the linked guide for the current action or boundary. The automatic feed block at the bottom only detects titles and dates; the table below records the changes actually reviewed.

0.9.15: what to check before the next run

If steering feels different after updating, check Alternate Controller Layout before changing your build. The official October 22 notes say the option now defaults to Off and was turned Off once for existing settings. The same patch reworks the start, options, leaderboard, Overworld, loadout and Overtime-question interfaces, and fixes start/options navigation.

  1. Controller handling changed: use the layout comparison on a familiar route. A reset setting does not imply a lost vehicle upgrade.
  2. An achievement is missing: finish the Steam update, confirm the installed version, then check the exact achievement. The notes name All Biomes Won and Welcome to the Desert; they do not announce a new unlock requirement or guarantee retroactive awards for every save.
  3. The new interface freezes or closes: distinguish the last responsive screen and input method, then use the upgrade and vehicle crash checks. Menu-navigation fixes do not establish that every later freeze is solved.

The Overtime-question change is an interface overhaul. These notes do not publish a new Overtime scoring formula, Mortar quest route or the full gameplay rework described in the roadmap. Keep the released GUI update separate from that planned work.

September 30 roadmap: announced, not installed

The first planned update in Q4 2026 includes build and run variety, balance and an Overtime rework. The Q1 2027 update adds content, and the graphic places full release in Q2 2027. Use the roadmap windows and player checklist to separate future features from current fixes. No new version number or live Overtime rule is supplied by this announcement.

Version / dateWhat to revisitNext step
0.9.15 / October 22Controller-layout reset, menu overhauls, start/options navigation, All Biomes Won and Welcome to the Desert fixes.Check the affected setting and achievement before retrying; GUI changes do not confirm a new Overtime rule.
0.9.14 / September 21A second starting Artifact reroll, Electric Mage targets, Repair Wrench healing, allied-unit status immunity, boss presentation and a 240 FPS cap in the main menu and Overworld.Recalculate Artifact rerolls and recheck Electric Mage. The FPS line does not document a selectable in-run frame-rate control.
0.9.13 / September 19Optional damage numbers, leaderboard visibility, Side Arm speed, minimum boss Silver, Overtime balancing and idle performance.Enable damage numbers in the settings tab before installing a third-party overlay; the mods guide explains what the official option does and does not replace.
0.9.10 / September 12Captain drawbacks, unlock-linked rerolls, Side Arm and Back Turret.Compare Captain penalties or calculate extra rerolls.
0.9.9 / September 11Active attacks and control effects; First Win and All Biomes Won achievement fixes.Revisit the active/control build options. If an old achievement report predates the fix, do not assume it describes the current build.
0.9.8 / September 10Controller driving option, Nitro regeneration delay and graphics launch troubleshooting.Use the control reminders. For launch options, follow the DX12 and Vulkan crash guide, which explains the developer’s launcher image.
0.9.7 / September 9Front Barracks active damage, Electric Mage and Captain description fixes.Treat older quoted values or translated descriptions cautiously; later changes may supersede them.
0.9.6 / September 8Grassland 1 health pickups, balance changes and the Ctrl stats shortcut.Use a release-version control reference rather than assuming the demo binding still applies.

How to hide the leaderboard

In 0.9.13 or later, use the leaderboard visibility option in Settings, or the control directly on the leaderboard. The official 0.9.13 notes list the start screen, biome interface and end screen as the affected places. This is an in-game option; no mod is required to hide the scores.

If you wanted the whole panel gone, that is a separate limitation: an October 4 reply in the player scoreboard discussion reports that the surrounding window stays after the scores are hidden. That report predates the 0.9.15 leaderboard overhaul; the newer notes do not specify whether the frame can now be removed. The original requester confirms using the hide button, but these reports do not establish a way to remove the frame. Do not keep changing graphics launch modes to look for that missing layout control.

September 10 achievement thresholds

The official Achievement Rebalancing announcement reduced later cumulative goals. Read the unit carefully: distance achievement names use metres, while descriptions can use kilometres.

On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to compare all columns.

GoalTier 3Tier 4Tier 5
Distance250 km = 250,000 m (was 1,000 km)500 km = 500,000 m (was 5,000 km)1,000 km = 1,000,000 m (was 10,000 km)
Boss kills50 (unchanged)75 (was 100)100 (was 500)
Units consumed7,500 (was 10,000)10,000 (was 50,000)25,000 (was 100,000)

For example, 250,000 metres and 250 kilometres are the same distance target, not conflicting thresholds. These cumulative achievements are separate from a biome quest that explicitly requires kills in one run. The September 11 First Win and All Biomes Won fix is also a separate change.

“All lands won!” still has not appeared

Check 0.9.15 first: its October 22 notes list another All Biomes Won fix, alongside Welcome to the Desert. The September 11 fix is historical, not proof that every later unlock issue is resolved. In a September 30–October 3 achievement discussion , players reported both missing and unexpectedly early awards. One reply suggested ending a run without Overtime; the conflicting reports do not establish that as a reliable repair or show that every side objective is required.

Before repeating every map, record the exact achievement name, cleared maps and difficulties, installed version, and whether each run ended normally or entered Overtime. Include those details in the linked achievement discussion. Keep cumulative boss-kill thresholds, per-run quests and biome-win achievements separate when describing the missing progress.

If a problem remains after a hotfix

Record the installed version, map, vehicle, Captain and what happened immediately before the problem. Compare the specific fix with your symptom: a patch addressing one interaction is not a promise that every similar-looking issue is solved. If a guide here describes an outdated rule, send the page URL and the conflicting official note through Corrections & Contact.

The dated release notes and roadmap are from Randwerk’s Steam announcements . Guide explanations are maintained separately; automatic feed refreshes do not certify the rest of a page.
